Assessment Criteria
Grade 4 develops all three stroke distances to 15m, introduces the handstand and adds lifesaving-themed swimming elements including lifesaving backstroke.

NO buoyancy aids permitted for any criteria.
- 1.Take part in rescue with reaching aid.
- 2.Slide-in entry, tread water 20 seconds, swim to poolside, climb out.
- 3.Push and glide into front crawl or breaststroke 15m (first choice).
- 4.Push and glide into backstroke 15m.
- 5.Push and glide into front crawl or breaststroke 10m (second choice).
- 6.Dolphin leg action on front 10m.
- 7.Attempt handstand — both hands on pool floor.
- 8.Scull head first 5m and feet first 5m.
- 9.Push and glide to pool floor, retrieve object, tuck and resurface.
- 10.Swim 10m lifesaving backstroke or sidestroke.
