Assessment Criteria
Grade 6 demands elite-foundation level swimming — 50m per stroke to Swim England standard, a 75m medley, a full lifesaving sequence performed in clothing and a kneeling dive.

Clothing required for the lifesaving sequence (criterion 2).
- 1.Shout and signal rescue at 5m.
- 2.Lifesaving sequence: step-in, swim 10m in clothing, tread water 1 minute, remove clothing, climb out.
- 3.Push and glide into front crawl or breaststroke 50m correct finish (first choice).
- 4.Push and glide into backstroke 50m correct finish.
- 5.Swim 75m performing 3 recognised strokes with smooth transition.
- 6.Undulating movement underwater through submerged hoop.
- 7.Push and glide into forward somersault.
- 8.Tread water using eggbeater kick 30 seconds.
- 9.Kneeling dive.
- 10.Swim 5m recognised front stroke, surface dive, swim 5m underwater.
