Stage Overview
Stage 2 removes flotation equipment and focuses on rhythmical breathing, streamlined gliding, log rolling and rotation. All travel must be without flotation support.
โ No flotation equipment. All travel must be unaided.
Assessment Criteria
- Jump in from poolside safely.
- Blow bubbles a minimum of 3 times rhythmically, with nose and mouth submerged.
- Move from a flat back float, return to standing without support.
- Move from a flat front float, return to standing without support.
- Push from the wall, glide on the back (arms by side or above head).
- Push from the wall, glide on the front with arms extended.
- Travel on the back 5 metres using a recognised leg action, feet off the floor, no flotation.
- Travel on the front 5 metres using a recognised leg action, feet off the floor, no flotation.
- Tuck to rotate from front float to back float, return to standing.
- Tuck to rotate from back float to front float, return to standing.
- Log roll from back to front.
- Log roll from front to back.
- Exit the water without support.
