Stage Overview

Stage 2 removes flotation equipment and focuses on rhythmical breathing, streamlined gliding, log rolling and rotation. All travel must be without flotation support.

โœ— No flotation equipment. All travel must be unaided.

Assessment Criteria

  1. Jump in from poolside safely.
  2. Blow bubbles a minimum of 3 times rhythmically, with nose and mouth submerged.
  3. Move from a flat back float, return to standing without support.
  4. Move from a flat front float, return to standing without support.
  5. Push from the wall, glide on the back (arms by side or above head).
  6. Push from the wall, glide on the front with arms extended.
  7. Travel on the back 5 metres using a recognised leg action, feet off the floor, no flotation.
  8. Travel on the front 5 metres using a recognised leg action, feet off the floor, no flotation.
  9. Tuck to rotate from front float to back float, return to standing.
  10. Tuck to rotate from back float to front float, return to standing.
  11. Log roll from back to front.
  12. Log roll from front to back.
  13. Exit the water without support.
